Int'l ecological competitiveness forum opens in east China

NANCHANG, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The 2021 China Forum on International Ecological Competitiveness has opened in the city of Ganzhou, in east China's Jiangxi Province, with over 300 attendees, including diplomatic envoys and government and business representatives.

He Wei, vice chairperson of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said during his address at the opening event that China will make remarkable achievements in the green transformation of lifestyles and production over the next five years.

China is committed to continuously reducing the discharge of major pollutants, said the senior political advisor, adding that the country will take concrete steps to deal with climate change.

This year's forum is jointly sponsored by the Jiangxi provincial government and departments including the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
