Despite the big draw of the global exhibitors at the fourth China International Import Expo, the high-level supporting activities being held during the event are another major part of the exhibition to address the global economic development and share market opportunities.

On Sept 28, the organizer of the fourth CIIE announced the schedule of on-site supporting activities, releasing detailed information about more than 100 high-quality activities during this year's exhibition.

The supporting activities of the fourth CIIE will play the function of promoting the exhibition and enhancing the CIIE's role in boosting global procurement, investment, cultural exchanges, openness and cooperation, the organizer said.

Some of the supporting activities are organized and participated by international organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the United Nations Global Compact, the International Trade Center, the World Intellectual Property Organization and the New Development Bank.

In addition, industrial organizations, exhibitors, buyers, mainstream media, investment and exhibition cooperation units will hold special activities during the exhibition.

Regarding the activity types, they include policy interpretations, matchmaking and contract signing, new product release, investment promotion and research release.

The policy interpretations and themed supporting activities feature various policy releases, authoritative analyses, in-depth interpretations, and trend analyses and judgments, carried out by members of the organizing committee, national ministries and commissions, local governments, industrial organizations, and research institutions to respond to the concerns of exhibitors and buyers, and promote opening-up and cooperation.

The matchmaking and contract signing activities will be comprised of demand release, supply-demand matchmaking and signing ceremonies organized by trade missions, buyers, exhibitors, partners of buyer invitation and exhibitor recruitment, and support units of the CIIE.

The activities are not only consistent with the theme of the CIIE, but are also closely combined with the characteristics of exhibition areas and industries, showcasing the exhibition's mission in promoting policy communication and boosting global trade, the organizer said.

According to the organizer, the fourth CIIE will continue to hold trade and investment matchmaking events during the exhibition period via some "face-to-face" and "screen-to-screen" negotiation activities, combining online and offline tools.

The supporting activities of the fourth CIIE will be strictly organized in accordance with the principle of epidemic prevention and control of COVID-19.
